vertical lines panasonic viera TC-P50G10 Can't Post

Looking for a little advice. I bought a Panasonic Viera TC-P50G10 February 14th, 2010. In May I had a black vertical line show up momentarily about 2 inches wide and just to the left of the center of the screeen. A week later, the line started showing up daily and stayed for longer periods of time. Best Buy came and replaced the "main Board" as per Panasonics diagnosis over the phone. Everything was fine for 1 week. Now the line shows up daily and may last ten seconds or may last an hour or two. Turning power off or on does not help, line shows up on all inputs, sometimes black, sometimes white with colored lines, sometimes yellow, red and black, sometimes flickering picture in and out. Best buy is coming to replace the same board again, but what would cause that board to go bad, tech is doing nothing to diag the problem.
By the time this repair is done the second time, the price of the TV will be exceeded and it is only 5 months old. I feel there is something causing that board to go bad and replacing the board is just putting a "band-aid" on the symptom, not fixing the problem. Any insight into what may be going on would be greatly appreciated, thanks. I have photos of the line in different colors but do not know how to insert them into the post, or if it can be done here.

If this tv is only 5 months old- you shouldn't be paying for any repairs (it is under warranty) What's wrong with taking the TV back to where you bought it from? They should offer money back or exchange as what you've got now isn't fit for purpose. If you open it up you'll invalidate your warranty.

If you're set on repairing it yourself, it doesn't seem like it will be easy. From a brief search on google it appears this is a common fault with plasmas with no simple answers.

Hope this helps & Good Luck...

Like I mentioned in the first post, a Bestbuy service tech was doing the repairs, but no diagnosing. The repairs are covered under warranty. The last visit, the C3 board was replaced, and seems to have fixed the problem. It has been 14 days and the line has not come back. Occasionally at power up, there is a vertical line to the left side of the screen that disappears within a minute or so. After speaking with Panasonic directly, it has been notated that if this repair does not work, a new tv well be provided or money returned.

Just an update, Bestbuy arranged for a 3rd party repair company to pick up the tv and repair it. They had it for a whole month. Panasonic has now paid over $2000 to fix an $1100 tv. The panel was replaced, the c3 board was replaced again and the panel came with a new main board with the inputs and outputs. Been 2 weeks and so far no more problems.

Crazy Thats odd. Normally Panasonic panels come with the C boards and nothing else.
