1080p on tv not working on PS3 Can't Post

Okay, I am not sure how many of you have PS3, but I have mine hooked up to a 56" Panasonic LCD Projection. The model is PT-56LCZ70. It has 1080P, but for some reason when I try to change my video settings on my PS3 it will not accept the 1080P option. It will only go as high as 1080i. I am a little dissapointed because the TV is supposed to hav 1080P and I have looked on a number of websites. If anyone has this TV with PS3 please help me. Thanks in advance.

Don't get confused here, You have a monitor with rated max resolution of 1960 x 10801 with a vertical scanning lines of 1080p. Since you have not mentioned what input did you use your ps3 towards the tv. You should input it to the TV HDMI. However, manual settings from your ps3 on 1080p option only allows you when the ps3 detects a source disc that supports 1080p resolutions materials. It is not the tv rejecting the signal, your ps3 is responsible delivering the signal out, (based on disc info). no matter what resolution is used, the difference will be subtle, but that 720p will be better for games and 1080i will be better for movies. atleast for now.
