I did a search on this subject, but I quickly became overwhelmed by the sheer amount of info out there. Furthermore, I don't know what fix applies to which set, etc. So, my apologies if this is a redundant question (which I'm sure it is) - go easy on me, I'm a newbie!
We have a 2003 Mitsubishi Medallion 55" - bought it used from an acquaintance about a year ago, and it's worked fine up until recently. It gets what's called the 3D 'look', with the primary colors appearing on the sides of the screen. Usually turning the set off and on will fix it, but sometimes only waiting it out works. The TV still powers up fine, and sometimes quite awhile can go by before the set experiences any problems.

This is all foreign language to me. but, with the help of you experts, we were able to fix a 1998 Philips Magnavox 55" about a year ago, and it works beautifully to this day, so I'm hoping the Mitsubishi can be saved without a repairman or costing an arm and a leg. Please, explain to me what exactly needs to be done.
