The Yankees didn’t get to play over the weekend due to inclement weather, but at least they got the make-up date they wanted. The Bombers, who were rained out against the Tigers on Saturday and Sunday, will play a split-doubleheader in Detroit on June 4 (1:10 p.m. Game 1, 7:10 Game 2). After Saturday’s game was postponed, the Bombers were slated to play a split-doubleheader on Sunday. Game 1 was canceled early, with Game 2 being postponed a little later. The first round and compensatory picks of the draft will be televised nationally on MLB Network, and only three west-coast games were slated for that evening at 10:07 p.m. ET or later. David Robertson, the team’s MLBPA representative, said the goal was to use an earlier common off-day in order to keep the team’s off-days later in the year when they are more important during the long season. Marlboro Gold Cigarettes For Sale Online “I don’t see why it’s going to hurt the draft at all,” said Roberson, who noted MLB was “gracious” in their decision to move the games to the Bombers’ preferred date. “It’s not like they’re drafting big-league players right now. “We didn’t want to stay here all day if we’re not going to play. Let’s figure out how we can make it work.” The doubleheader will split a Bombers roadtrip that goes through Baltimore (Friday-Sunday) and Toronto (Tuesday-Wednesday). The team then has an off-day on Thursday. The players wanted a straight doubleheader, but the Tigers wanted the gate. D-Rob said he understood, but added that playing at 1:00 p.m. and then 7 p.m. before traveling was “the hardest part for us.” Newport 100s Cigarettes For Sale Online “We got the day we wanted, so we’ll take that,” he said. The Yankees were also snowed out of their home-opener on April 2, though they were able to make it up the next day. Inclement weather has caused cancellations through the sport early on. PITCHING PROBABLES Because of the rain, Luis Severino got bumped to Monday. Masahiro Tanaka will start on Tuesday. CC Sabathia (hip), who was thought to make his return from the disabled list Tuesday, will now start Thursday. Luis Cessa, who was supposed to start over the weekend, has been optioned back to Triple-A Scranton. Aaron Boone said Cessa would be needed soon thought as a potential sixth starter, so he wanted him to stay built up in the minors. There is no corresponding roster move as of yet. Shane Robinson, who had been designated for assignment, was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton. INJURY UPDATES Brandon Drury (migraines, blurred vision) is expected to take batting practice at Yankee Stadium on Monday. “Hopefully continuing to get good news and progress to baseball activity and see how he responds to the anti-inflammatories and stuff,” Aaron Boone said. Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) is in Tampa and has started back up on baseball activity-type stuff. Clint Frazier (concussion) is close to passing all the protocols he needs hopefully get back in a minor-league game real soon, according to Boone.
