I acquired this (non-working) TV for $40.00. It will not turn on (audio or video). I have paid a repair man $30.00 to make a house call and write up an estimate. He said he could basically "rebuild" it for $500.00 to $600.00. This would include a 2 year repair warranty on both parts and service. I am trying to decide of it is worth repairing or not. If anyone has any input, please share it with me.
This is a 1995 model year, 42" (I think), rear projection GE/RCA TV. The model # is 4GW944. Also, if repaired, what should I expect for a service life for the TV?
