HITACHI 43FDX01B VERTICAL CONVERGENCE Can't Post

I was given a Hitachi projection tv. Model 43fdx01b. It was given to me with the red vertical line about 1" to the right of the green and blue. It is also wavy at the top and bottom. Horizontal convergence is ok. Does this sound like an expensive fix?( 100-300) Anything more I will buy new. Thanks in advance for advice or tips.

sounds like you need to replace the convergence IC`s, also check around the stk`s for any burnt/dis-colored resistors, price is hard to say, depends on where you live, call around to a couple of shops and get some estimates, here in Florida we charge about $246 total for that repair, Larry E

Thanks for the advice. I've checked other posts and it sound like you are right on point. I will get estimates; but it looks tempting to replace them myself. The part that I'm not to fond about is the red wires from the flyback transformer. If I can get enough slack in them I will replace myself. I will check with a local pro first. Thanks again.
