Hitachi 51" projection TV problem

Hitachi 51" projection TV problem	Can't Post

This TV is 6 years old purchased new. I just notcied recently the color is waivering on the screen, it kind of goes from a normal looking color pattern to a more yellowish tint, and it goes back and forth like this every couple of seconds. Is this likely something that would be so expensive it wouldn't be worth spending the money to have it fixed, or could this be something that can be fixed for a couple hunderd bucks or less?

I don't really know how I can provide any more info without knowing more about TVs. The TV has a slight color variation that appears to cycle at a rate of about every 2 seconds. I would guess it's not a bad lamp as those usually just go out completely.
