Braddks, if your Hitachi is a newer model, you can try the "magic focus" button on the remote or the front panel. If that doesn't work, dissemble the speaker panel and remove the wooden board. Inside, you should see 6 knobs, 3 for fine focusing and 3 for color adjustments. I believe the bottom 3 is for focusing. Try that, and if that doesn't work, then the problem might lie in your convergence board. There is however, one more option, and that is to manually adjust the focus on the lens but I would not recommend that since it is a pain to get it back in place.
