I love the smell of ozone in the morning... Can't Post

Hi all,
Been lurking for a while here and found some great advice on changing crt coolant. We recently inherited a RCA 46" that had an air bubble in the blue crt cooling fluid. I've replaced the fluid and the tv looks great now, however there is the sound of arcing and the smell of ozone coming from the blue crt. I'm not seeing any sparks, and the image on the tube is not distorting at all, but it's a bit disconcerting. It is a rapid constant arcing sound, not your typical high voltage snap, snap, snap. It started happening as soon as power was reapplied and was not doing it before. There does not seem to be any fluid leaking on components. I did not remove the anode for this repair and it seems to be attached well.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

you likely spilled some gel on the crt anode plug it will arc a lot more later

Will this eventually stop? Should I just leave it turned on until it "bakes off"?

Yeah, I suppose I could discharge the anode, remove and wipe it off. I hate messing around with high voltage though. There's a reason they call it a flyback transformer! Shocked

you don't have to discharge a projection crt and to take the anode lead off you will have to destroy it as it is glued on with silicon just try to wipe it off as best you can
