Solid colored-screens such as red & blue show alright.

We purchased the JVC aw-48wp74 brand new 4 years ago and this started only 3 months after the purchase date, but the picture would clear up immediately. This happened maybe once a month or so in the beginning. By the second year, it took a couple of hours after turning the set on to get a clear picture and it would stay focused & sharp the rest of that day. Now after 4 years, no clear pictures, except on solid red & blue screen images. Everything else is washed out.

All we've done to correct the problem, so far, is clean the dust off the picture tubes and performed a convergence test. Neither worked.
Can you help us, please? Crazy

this looks like a fault in the digital video processor section you should really have got it sorted when under ist year warranty, but now I don't think this is something you could faultfind yourself although you could check for bad solder joints by prodding around inside with an INSULATED plastic stick to see if the fault comes and goes. if it does, you could, with time ,and patience track it down and resolder the bad joint.
