I have a Sony KP53V25 big screen. Last week while watching a program everything went blank and quite. I called a Sony authorized repair facility and they sent a repair guy out. He pulled off the back, powered it up and listened for a click and immediately surmised the problem was it was immedialty shutting down. He said its too old to repair and recomended buying a new one and that the culpret was the high voltage block and probably unavailable. It was late in the evening and i think he just wanted to go home. Make a long story short....I ordered the part from Sony direct. It isn't the exact part but was listed a replacement part. I installed and nothing !nope, nada, silch! So I grabed the VOM and checked continuity of the old and new. All seems Ok with exception of primary resistance. 143 ohms new 245 ohms old. I would think something would happen but its my guess the teck just wanted to make a quick 95 bucks. Where should I look? There is NO sound and NO video so i'm guessing a power supply problem. I have no schematic and would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
