Magnavox 9P5514c101 Screen Issues

I have a Magnavox 9P5514 C101, let me start off by saying I got this TV for free last week and I have never had a projection TV before ( I am very capable of sodering boards and taking things apart as well as putting them back together) There is a small issue with the picture that is projected, the screen starts off normal size and them quickly jumps to about 2/3 the size, it is like the tube is getting warmed up and then shrinks. Any Ideas or help would be great.
