Mitsu 41" convergence issue Can't Post

Kinda new here, but you are the experts, so here goes. I have a 41" mitsubishi projection TV, about 2000 year model. It has always worked fine, but it suddenly got blurry and to sharpen it, I used the convergence adj. It getes semi sharp, them fuzzes out and is yellowish. I was told it was a convergence problem, so if thaty sounds right, wherre can I get a convergence card, the locals 45 miles away want an arm and a leg for one.

may have trouble in the focus section instead of the convergence did you try adjusting the controls on the focus block

I guess I should have been clearer with my descriptors,...the focus has fine, the only way to get it legible was to adjust the convergence with the remote...it ALMOST gets there, then ..bamm..back to shadowed...I have been reading these posts, and it seems like Mitsu has an inherant problem with this issue...ie the Ic chips controlling the convergence guns. Interesting that almost every Mitsubishi post is the same.. Now watching a Sony LCD, but this is a good game player for the kids, if I can get it to work...I am going to go home and try the focus, just to be sure that I did not miss it.

The convergence ICs are the weak link in all projection units as they operate at such high temperatures. the good thing about Mitsubishi that I have found in relation to other brands is they hardly ever burn the resistors as most other models do when the ICs go. If you arent sure which ICs your set uses , post the model number and i will let you know. Most mitsubishi use STK392-110 but I would recomend upgrading for a cooler running IC as long as youre changing them.
