Mitsubishi DLP brightness problem Can't Post

I have a model WD62627 62" DLP mitsubishi for which i replaced a lamp in August. I bought the tv 2 years ago.
All was well after replacing the lamp i bought online from Electrified Discounters Inc. for $195 which they said was an equivalent for the series until about a month ago when the brightness of the tv was no longer the same as i know it(dimmer than usual). It is even worse in the day where you really have to strain to see the picture and this is with blinds drawn. I did some trouble shooting by playing with contrasts, brightness color etc. to no avail.
Is this a lamp issue or something deeper than what i think? The TV repair guy who looked at it says its unfamiliar and that the brightness changes slightly when adjusting between the two extremes.
Any opinions or advice appreciated.

See this alot here at the shop, great rule of thumb--If you want it to work like the orginal then buy orginal parts

You could have a bad new lamp or you've got a possible problem with the shutter circuit on the engine. They've had a history of bad connections on the interconnect board that sits on top of the engine.
