PTK171ACB had a bad smell like something burning now it won't turn on at all except if you press the volume up or + buttons the power light will come on an help is appreciated it looks to me like T4 coil thing on the board is fried

With a 13 year old set many things could have gone wrong, the scree/focus controls are known to fail in this set, it also has the famous RCA high voltage splitter, several dozen capacitors are probley weak or have failed, but at 13 years old your best bet is to save the repair bill and get a new set

I replaced the T4 coil and EUREKA the TV works although I left it on all night last night and woke up this morning and it is blurry the convergence is in check but it looks like it is not
