Panasonic pt-47wx53 no red color	Can't Post

I have a Panasonic pt-47wx53 set in which the red color intermittently goes out. It will sometimes come back after a few minutes, or in some cases a couple of hours. I can sometimes unplug the set and let is reset and get it back, but not always. I have ruled out the projector lamp inthat the color reappears and can stay on as long as 1 day of regular watching only to go out again. I opened the back to see the blue and green working, but not the red. I have no ideal what may be the problem; I am also trying to nurse this thing along until it is feasable to replace it with a flat screen. Could you give me some ideal what is the problem and what I can do about it. Thanks in advance.

My acrylic ball says: Bad connections or bad solder joints.

I agree with jts1957...
When the red goes out next time , with the back open , look at the bottom inside the neck of the Red CRT & see if there's an orange glow similar to what is at the bottom of the green & blue CRTs...
Chances are that you have a bad connection on the red CRT module/panel...

I appreciate the responses for my problem. To answer you question, I have taken off the back when this has happened and there does not appear to have any light at the base or any part of the red lamp. However, if I am wrong about that and it is a bad connection as you have suggested, how would I go about repairing it?

Depends on;...
How much electronic/TV repair background experience do you have ????

You'll have to carefully remove the red CRT module & find the bad connection(s) & resolder them...
Usually they are at the CRT socket connections....
You will need a soldering iron , resin solder & some soldering experience IS helpful....

possibly also red crt. a stern rap to the neck of the crt may expose intermittent condition,
