You have a defective power supply/deflection module. The vertical output my be shorted not allowing the high voltage to fire or the high voltage transformer is defective ( the unit with the red wires comming out of it with a white one. A shop will charge you 400-700 depending if they come to you or you go to them. Ask around town about your tv man there(if you have one) because there are many butcher shops out there that will land you more problems than you want fixed. Good luck.

The tv does not go in standby mode if the helps. All fuses good. I have repair television be for just not projection tv's. How can i check the deflection module or the vertical output for a short. I had a zenith 46" that did the same thing it had a bad flyback transformer that i replace. I appreciate your feedback.
Thanks

I'm sorry, with you saying you have sound I assume you had standby supplies and you had turn on with a red light on the power button lit? If you have turn on and no High voltgage you need to see or hear in this case if the switch mode power supply is firing up at turn on. If you have sound coming out of the tv with your signal hooked up then you smps is working. If you don't have sound try to hear the smps firing up with a chirp(if you worked on tv's before you know what I mean) If you have chirp then you may have a vertical problem. If no vertical deflection the high voltage will not fire for safty issues. When you looking at the board find the vert. output. It is on a heat sink to the very lower left of the module. Now look directly ahead of the vertical circuit up past the heat sink your see a small transformer that is driven by the horz. sweep of the unit just to the right of the heat sink. Two supplies are derived from this supply +&- 18volt b+. The b+ is fused with two fuses just ahead of the transformer just follow the circuit. To trouble shoot remove all screws from the chassis frame to the bottom part of the cabinet. Pull out the light sheild just in front of you. Pull the chassis back to you and raise the front and slide it up toward the front of the cabinet and raise the back half up to access the printed circuit side of the modules. If one of the fuses are open your output is defective, replace output and fuse to correct. If the fuses are good then output is good and we to move on. Do this and get back to me.

(I'm sorry)Let’s start over. Have TV now. Power button does light up red. Not sure if I have sound or not. Do not know which audio input is on. Power light flickers when you hit volume control on front panel. Do not hear chirp that you were describing when powering up. I hear a relay click. Tested all fuses and they are good. Do not have high voltage coming out of the flyback transformer. Tube heaters are not glowing. Do I still need to check what you suggested? Appreciate feedback..

Good you have turn on. If you do not hear that chirp noise it sound like the switch mode power supply is not firing up because it could be loaded down with a short on one of its b+ lines. A real common problem is shorted convergance outputs loading down the supply. To test for this is to pull the ribbon cable that is up front at the edge of the two boards. If you follow the center of the chassis between the two main modules all the way up,past the big silver looking heat sink to the left your find that small jumpering ribbon cable 8-10 pin connector that jumps the b+ from the power supply to that signal board to the left. Just pull one side and turn on the tv again and see if now you have high voltage and a raster. You will not have sound or convergance but it will fire up. If it does not fire up, reconnect the cable and meter the dc voltage at those pins with your meter and get back with me.

I did hear a chirp one time. Pull ribbon cable no high voltage. Meter readings are in the attach picture.

Good Job! Your smps is running. You either have a vertical problem or a defective high voltage transformer assy. look ahead of the high voltage transformer and your see a small yellow transformer. Just to the right of the small transformer your see three diodes and just to right of those your see two small can like fuses board marked location # 1800 and 1801 that say T1A 250V on the board. Look to see if one or both are open. If so replace the vertical output and the open fuses. If not open you have a defective high voltage transformer. Get back with me. Good Luck!
