Philips 8P5434C Can't Post

I bought this set for my mother a few years ago and it was fine for about a year. Well, after 14 months, one of the CRT's had leaked and it was taken out of service. Reason being, they were going to charge my mom $620 to replace the CRT....and what if the board was fried as well?
Well, im pretty tech savvy and replaced the CRT seals, fluid, etc. But I couldnt line of the convergence. I called out an authorized service guy, and he didnt even look inside and told me I needed a new convergence panel/module. He said it would be around $525. I asked him if he was smoking crack! Damn, the set only cost $1500 new. Well, is it, in your guys' opinion, automatically the convergence module? Is that a moving part? Someone told me it physically adjusts the CRT's. And, why cant it be repaired? I can get this module online for $326. Is it really difficult to install? Please help.
Thanks.

when you change tube it will be out of convergenc the covergence module is likely good this is not something you can do without special equipment and it will have to be carried to shop call around to shops and ask how much they will charge to do job ,warning a lot of repair shops don't like to work on things after a do it yourselfer, around here its usually around $100 to converge tv because it takes a lot of time and thats if you haul it in
