I bought this set for my mother a few years ago and it was fine for about a year. Well, after 14 months, one of the CRT's had leaked and it was taken out of service. Reason being, they were going to charge my mom $620 to replace the CRT....and what if the board was fried as well? Well, im pretty tech savvy and replaced the CRT seals, fluid, etc. But I couldnt line of the convergence. I called out an authorized service guy, and he didnt even look inside and told me I needed a new convergence panel/module. He said it would be around $525. I asked him if he was smoking crack! Damn, the set only cost $1500 new. Well, is it, in your guys' opinion, automatically the convergence module? Is that a moving part? Someone told me it physically adjusts the CRT's. And, why cant it be repaired? I can get this module online for $326. Is it really difficult to install? Please help. Thanks.
