Phillips 7P6035W101 Snap then smoke	Can't Post

I have a Phillips Mangnavox 7P6035W101 60" rear projection TV. Last night it made a large snap noise and went blank. A few seconds later smoke started coming out of the rear. If I try to turn the unit on, it will attempt to com one and then shut off. Any suggestions on components to investigate? Also, if I change the 'Large Signal Board' what are the odds that the problem will be corrected?

UPDATE - I have found where the burnt smell is coming from. It is not the main board as I thought. It is a black box about 4 sq. in. that has 2 red, 2 blue and 2 green wires coming into it. These go to the 3 Guns R,B,G. What is this box called? Is it repairable?
