The Model number of my unit is SP56920 and the chassis number is CTC188 chassis.
I blew out the entire unit today to get all the dust out. nothing looks burned or out of the ordinary. i did however check some parts of a few boards to see if they were grounding out and it seems alot of the unit components are short to ground and im pretty sure they shouldnt be. the main parts i looked at LOOK like HOT(horizontal output trans). the HOT look alikes have these things on the back of them that to seperate themfrom the ground plates. Kind of like a spacer but really thin. anyway many of those units are short to frame.

if the flyback cable is hissing then the set has hi voltage so you don't need to ck anything about the hot if you replaced the splitter with a known good one then the trouble is likely a bad focus block

you guys are gonna think im nuts. ok im not the best tv tech out there but like to try fixing things. anyway the first thing i noticed was a paper hair line crack all the way throught the focus block. it was obvious. i figured that the tv would at least turn on though. but thanks to the last post i guess this could be causing the issues i have. i have to order the focus block now. and when i get a new one then i will let you guys know.
thanks

Good things happen when you post the model number ! And don`t ever forget, " no question is a dumb question if you truly don`t know the answer" Larry E
