RCA projection TV - power problem

I have a 10 yr old RCA 45" projection TV. For a while now, in order to turn it on, you had to unplug it for a minute and a half, plug it back in, and immediately turn it on. Now when I do this, the power light comes on for 2 seconds, and then shuts off. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this and how expensive it would be to repair this? Any help is IMMENSELY appreciated!! Thanks
