RU-44SZ51D -- Problems with White Images

I purchased the LG RU-44SZ51D (44" DLP) from Best Buy and I absolutely love it. But just recently I have started to experience 1 MINOR problem.
When predominantly WHITE images are displayed (usually during a TV commercial) the entire screen goes black. It's as if the source (DirectTV receiver) was shut off, yet the sound remains. As soon as the image changes, the picture returns.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
NOTE - I also have an email in to LG tech support, but figured I would probably get a faster response here.
