the convergence ic's can make the tv stick on standby if they are faulty. but so can a horizontal out fault or high voltage splitter fault.disconnect the thick lead fron the flyback transformer to the splitter put the end of the cable in a plastic insulated bottle and switch on .see if the tv powers up.if not, find the two big STK convergence amp ic's and unsolder them if you are handy with the soldering iron. take them out of the pcb and switch on and see if the tv powers up. if yes then they are faulty so order the correct ones not Chinese equivalents and change them. check the low value fusible resistors right by the ic's they may be gone high resistance or open circuit as well.
