Samsung 42HD43A No Picture Can't Post
I have a Samsung 42HD43A 42' projection set. When I turn it on the red indicator light flashes but no picture. I have read through alot of threads and there seems to be a pattern. Could this be a Convergence Board problem? This is a large cabinet unit and the closest repair shop that will work on the unit is 65 miles away ( I live in the boonies). I have some electronic background (enough to be dangerous) and if there is strong opinion it may be the convergence board then I can change that out. I would appreciate any other assistance available. This set is only 2 1/2 years old and if I can fix it inexpensively then I would rather do that.

the convergence ic's can make the tv stick on standby if they are faulty. but so can a horizontal out fault or high voltage splitter fault.disconnect the thick lead fron the flyback transformer to the splitter put the end of the cable in a plastic insulated bottle and switch on .see if the tv powers up.if not, find the two big STK convergence amp ic's and unsolder them if you are handy with the soldering iron. take them out of the pcb and switch on and see if the tv powers up. if yes then they are faulty so order the correct ones not Chinese equivalents and change them. check the low value fusible resistors right by the ic's they may be gone high resistance or open circuit as well.

hi had same problem, changed out conv. board and still nothing !! so ichanged out my crt s as a kit from partstore.com and now have set up and running!! kit BP-94-00234A also can find parts at vancebaldwin.com boatman355
