Samsung DLP Black and White TV Can't Post

I recently got a Samsung DLP Model HLN507W for free. I was told the color wheel made a noise, but otherwise worked good. When I got it home and powered it up, it sounded like someone was cutting the TV open from the inside. I unplugged it and waited, but got the same noise again on power up. After a bit it reduced to a hum, but when I figured out how to get the input selected correctly, the picture is in black and white. Otherwise it looks great. I'm thinking the color wheel bearings screamed and died. Does anyone think I'm right, or am I way off target? Thanks.

Crazy Your color wheel is dying. Fortunatly, they are cheap and somewhat easy to replace. As far as the black and white, you might whant to check how you have your components connected. Are you using composite by chance?
