Toshiba 42HM66 TV won't start up	Can't Post

Having problems with my Toshiba 42HM66 TV. At power up the green power light comes on but the orange lamp led blinks, the fan sounds like it is running. After a minute or so the green power light also begins to flash. Any thoughs on what to do? The lamp seems ok when you look at it but I don't have any way to test it and I really hate to spend the money on a new lamp if that is not the problem.

If the red & green blink at 1 second intervals then your lamp is defective .
If the red & green light blinks 3 times then it could be a ventilating issue from abnormal temperature rising .
If your lamp is old and is past the 3000 to 5000 viewing hours this could be your problem .
The blink codes above were from the service manual and mention red & green . Not green & orange .
Don't buy a generic or OEM replacement as they don't last long , that is why they are cheap . Stick with original Toshiba lamps on this model .
