Do you have to purchase a manual in order to join or receive the unlimited support or rather is there a fee? Have you joined slinteriors?

Hello. Yes I am one of the repair techs . I am also a repair tech at fixit.com. The only fee involved is purchasing the manual for the set your wanting to repair that covers the unlimited support and we even offer to provide links to where you can obtain any parts that you may need. If you request that the manual be emailed they will email it out to you along with the info to join yahoo messenger for online instant support, and that is unlimited you have the support for as long as it takes to diagnose and repair that set. I think its a great deal cause you would spend twice that for a manual anywhere else and have no help whatsoever. Your not really buying the manual for 10.99 your buying the support for 10.99 the manbual is so you have the same infor mation so when we say check the voltage on the case of Q421 you will know exactly what were talking about. Hope this answers your question. They add more manuals everyday. So if your set is listed its a good deal for you.

If said "nube", inexperienced person who purchases your services attempts to troubleshoot their TV set and makes a mistake, like a meter probe slipping off a test point you suggest taking a voltage measurement on and dead shorts something putting it into a even worse state than before, will you take responsibility or do you wash your hands of the problem?

Just wondering.

Its a service to help people that want to fix their sets. We warn them of the dangers involved. Most people if properly warned work cautiously around voltages. Most people cant afford to throw out a 3000.00 projection because a tech wants 500 to install a 20.00 part. If someone makes a mistake like everyone does from time to time we offer them the Unlimited support to help them understand what happened because of it and the way to go about correcting it. When you refer to someone being a "nube" you should realize we were all a nube when we first opened up our first back panel.

I appreciate the response and will keep that in mind should I need those services. As you say it's information based and everyone should use caution when working around electrical devices. If someone doesn't feel they're capable then they shouldn't even attempt the repair.

thats exactly right. We just feel that people need some honest to goodness support so maybe they can save the tv they spent the hard earned money on without spending 500 or 600 hundred from a shop for repairs.
