Zenith a60m91w yellow/green tint during intense white picture Can't Post

From the TV repair forum copied to the Proj TV Repair forum

Anyone else have similar problems or solutions to these issues

a60m91w.
#1.worked well 3 yr,warr exp.,video failed sound ok
service replaced 9-1978 or 9-1674 on bill(flyback fail)
now out of service warr. during BRIGHT white screens
ie. Hockey rink covering 50% of screen picture will tint
yellow or greenish over 2-3 seconds, once subject screen changes to non-white background picture returns to 100% normal. Is there an adjustment.
#2. Vertical stripe all the time on left hand side 1" wide. Appeared after board service exp. constant.

additional info from last night
screen "tinting" is worse on high brightness settings
Service menu 9876 enter works 80 set items
menu 11/17/98 TE=10110100 a-018728-04 1.3
board replaced was 009-01978-01 "large signal brd"

problem during hockey only when top of picture is on white ie. player zoom in. on general rink shot with fans on top of picture not bad. tinting fades in 2-3 seconds then goes away 2-3 sec when top of pic darker again. (less noticeable in weak sig or movie mode settings, worst in daylight or sports settings)

#2 vertical bar on left hand remains when service horizontal picture shift is done code 69. discoloured stripe top to bottom appears darker than rest of picture

vertical stripe disappeared whenthe horizontal adjustment POT was "adjusted" what else? on 1678 board. two pots at front vertical and horizontal

Still going yellowish it seems when the overall brightness of the picture increases.

I remember someone mentioning a brightness protection circuit to prevent tube damage if the picture was too bright. Is there a parameter or adjustment for that????

change R5102 on green video output module. This is 120k 1/2 w resistor located near video output transistor. Board accessible behind speaker grill

Smile Thanks I will try that

Another symptom: During a dark (black) screen I can faintly see blue diagonal lines.
Maybe 6-10 each spaced 4-6 inches apart or so from bottom to top of the screen
Does this shed any more light on the problem?

What problem does the resistor fix solve?
Thank you

change R5102 on all three video boards while you are at it. This should solve all your problems

WELL Here we go again
Now about 2 years later the TV has failed again
NO Picture, sound and everything else OK
Pulled front grill off, can't see any glowing in tubes
last board was part #009-01978-01 module 04/01
made in mexico
Is this a common problem. Is board repairable
or another $300 + labour or ssccRRAAPPP
thanks
