Mitsubishi 65" should be 1080RES, but it only goes to 800x600!

I connected my mits 65" to my PC on the DVI port. Max supported resolution for the TV is 1920X1080 (HD;) and a MAX refresh rate of 60Hz. The problem is when I set resolution to anything more than 800x600, everything on the screen stays visable, but becomes a bit flickery. Video card is a Radeon X800 256, and any other monitor works fine w/ high res. All ideas welcome, thanks, Phil.
