color problem Samsung Can't Post

I have a samsung HCL 473w that I got from a friend , Went to adjust the converge and the red move but the cross hairs are on an angle, and the blue won't let me adjust at all, is there anything I can do to improve the picture.

Thanks

Crazy Convergence IC's and probably some resisters around the IC's.

Here's one possibility;=>...
http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?cat=2388
A bit pricey at $76.95 USD....
But if you are a novice you get;=>...

Kit Includes
  • OEM Sanyo Convergence Chips. Each kit includes the correct replacement convergence chips verified against the service manuals ( 1201-001225, AA96-00034A, STK392-XXX, etc ) Two chips per kit unless your model uses three - in that case we ship three. These are genuine OEM Sanyo chips. Sanyo was the primary supplier of convergence chips used in TV sets made by Philips, Sony, Hitachi, Panasonic, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and many others). We do not use lower quality generic convergence chips in our kits like other sites.
  • Convergence Resistors - These are specifically designed and rated for convergence circuits. Do not use anything but convergence rated resistors when doing these repairs.
  • Thermal Paste
  • Photo Instruction Manual - Complete Instructions on how to repair your TV. This is a step by step photo instruction guide that will walk you through each step of the repair. All of our repair guides are non technical and easy to follow. You do not need to have any prior electronic repair experience to use this kit.(Download Version - allows you to view/zoom/print from your computer)
  • Soldering Instruction Manual - Complete instructions on how learn to solder like a pro in less that 30 minutes.
  • Email/Phone/Live Chat Support

    Otherwise you can just get the ICs & wing it....
    Google for them , email or call the supplier to find out if they ship to Canada etc.....
    http://www.google.com/...&oq=&gs_rfai=
    Your ICs are STK392-040...
    Replace BOTH....
    Do not forget the thermal paste for the new ICs...
    Use ONLY Sanyo ICs....
    Generics altho cheaper , WILL cause problems....
    So will up-grading to STK392-150....
    NEVER , NEVER , NEVER do that !!!!

    Other choices;=>....

    MCM;=>.....
    http://electronics.mcmelectronics.com/...040&x=19&y=8

    $19.09 ea....

    Also MCM;=>...
    Heat sink compound;=>...
    http://www.mcmelectronics.com/...at%20sink%20compound
    Scroll down to item #20-4505...

    Let us know how you make out ....THANKS....Wink...

    GOOD LUCK.....Sly....

I don't quite understand the point of this post.....Unsure....
"""I saw this one,"""... WHICH one ????

""""selling parts that aren,t up to OEM spec"""
IF someone is selling a convergence IC of this kind for $5 or $6 , you can bet its a generic or a Chinese made knockoff....
With the exception of the Google link,the info I posted IS from trusted & reliable suppliers....
The products ARE up OEM specs or I wouldn't post them....
The only thing you need to find out is if they ship to Canada...
This company albeit IS pricey , IS a reputable company;=>...

So is MCM.....

& You're VERY welcome....
Let us know how it goes...OK....THANKS....Sly....
