connecting bluetooth headphones to TV

I have a JVC HD56G787 rear projection TV I want to use BT headphones with. I have a TaoTronics TT-BA08 wireless transmitter/receiver connected with male 3.5 to 2-male RCA to the audio out on TV but I don't get any sound. I tried a different unit that also had a optical cable port I couldn't get any sound with that. The transmitter and the headphones pair. Any suggestions are appreciated.
