Lamps?

Are you talking about LCD rear projectors or DLP sets?

If you are, the manufacturer has far less to do with longevity of a lamp than the user and how the set is turned on and off or the amount of ventilation the set has to cool itself.

Umberr, lamps are NOT made by the manufacturer of the tv, they are outsourced, so it makes no difference when it comes to the lamps longevity which set you purchase, read the owners manual for tips on prolonging lamp life, keep the fan(s) clean, don`t remove the AC from the tv for at least 20-30 minutes after you shut the set off, don`t turn tv on/off, on/off etcetera, etcetera, read the manual and follow it`s instructions and you`ll get the max life out of the lamp, my experience has been 2-3 thousand hours is average, (I`m a tv tech so I re-set timers every week) you can probably get more time out of them if you follow the instructions in the owners manual. Buy exact replacement lamps from a dealer, bargain brand lamps are a piece of crap, get the original, good luck, Larry E
