Lamps typically last about 8,000 hours on most models high end models , some of the cheaper models last only 1,000-2,000 hours. Keep in mind however that some lamps won't make it all the way to their estimated life spans.I got a link where you can find the replacement lamp compatible to your Panasonic set.

If you operate your LCD or DLP TV in a warm environment that is not adequately ventilated, or at higher elevations, this can reduce lamp life. Try to avoid these kind of situations. I recommend you Panasonic TY-LA1000 Replacement LCD Projection TV Lamp for your set

Indeed lamp is the important part of projection Tvs. Many factors are involved to increase the lamp life. one recommended action is to change the default color setting (and contrast) you are using to watch TV. This might be a better place for you to have a high quality projection lamp for your set.

How long have you had the TV? has it ever been serviced?
Try to reseat the lamp and connect it correctly.
I would recommend calling Panasonic to see if you have a warranty to cover it.. if not you may want to ask to see if they let you buy an extended warranty.
If you do want to buy an extra bulb i recommend you

Re: [zavi] need help in replacing lamp [In reply to] Can't Post

Have you tried re-seating the lamp...Some times the connector does not fully make a connection. maybe the sensor for the lamp cover is not fully pressed in... Let me know what happens.

How much did you pay for your lamp? And does it say philips on it? I know the generics have a higher chance of failure right out of the factory. The problem sounds like you bought a faulty bulb.

I suggest you
Panasonic PT-52LCX65 Replacement LCD Projection TV Lamp P/N: TY-LA1000

This lamp model is also compatible to your Projection set model.

well zavi, You might have placed the TV in warm environment or some non-ventilated area.

The lamps also need to have some protection.

Other thing, consult some repair person if there is some possibility of correction without replacing the lamp.

and also try this Place for Lamp replacement

Try to take out the lamp and reseat it…it just might have a bad connection or the sensor on the lamp door might not be activated all the time.

Did it dim or it went out all at once? Did you just move?
Is the TV set somewhere very dusty or somewhere not very well ventilated?

You might have not taken care of the TV. I ran across this page,

Panasonic replacement Lamp compatible to 52LCX15

This would be helpful to you...

take a good care
