rca proscan convergance problem Can't Post

a friend of mine gave me a 1995 rca proscan 42" he said that the screen got to wide and he tried to adjust it and gave up and bought a pioneer elite the screen being to wide isnt that big of an issue to me but the convergance is messed up i can get the service grid up and i can get the red green and blue to line up ok on the left and in the middle of the grid but the top and right side of the grid bows the top bows down and the right side bows in to the left i have spent hours twisting the knobs and it is the best it will get any help on what might be the cause would be greatly appreciated i have two extra mother boards but somewhat afraid to change them due to stored voltage and not sure if it would fix the problem thanksCrazy

Well what may have been a simple cap problem is now all screwed up, First you have to find out what made this set do this in the first place, repair that then find a pattern genarator and start putting all the controls back, The second problem will drive you insane. These controls have differant affects on other controls and they all play off each other, there is no magic reset,
