This uses the stand alone convergance board, it sits all by itself up above all the other boards and has two large Ic's ( STK392-040 ) unplug the extream left plug on this board. this takes power away from this board, now if the set now runs but with a distorted pix you found the problem, simply replace this board BP95-00142E at www.vancebaldwin.com about 80 bucks. This is not a fix all for these Samsungs but it is the most common problem. Before I leave, if the set runs and has a distorted pix, it simply means there no convergance correction going on, remember you un pluged the board, but if there is a line running up and down and possibley in two colors and looks like a burn mark,,,,,, it is,,, in about 30% of these sets when convergance fails it,,,,Well to make it easy burns the red and green crt beyond repair. so if you see this line stop right there, youre done.
