samsung pcj533rf audio problems

just purchased a samsung pcj533rf tv from a guy in my apartment building. everything worked fine for a few days now i can't get any sound, everything else works fine. there is sound but it is very very faint even at full volume and when near and at full volume, speakers make loud crackling noises. tried changing all the settings but to no avail. when turing the tv on the speakers make a "pop" sound as if trying to come on. any help would be much appreciated. thanks!!!
