17pw20 flashing standby light Can't Post

Hello all,

I have recently acquired a tv that uses the Vestel 17PW20 psu.

It has the flashing standby light problem. I have purchased the repair kit and replaced all components.

But it still has the issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

WHAT TV? Or do we presume ONLY yours uses that board?
What repair kit? From where? Which components?

Assume "flashing standby light" Before & NOW.

Hmmmm... I seem to think you are just picking on the "newbie"....

I have done some google'n and there is only one repair kit I can find for the infamous "flashing standby light" problem .

I don't think the model of the TV is relevant, considering this is a PSU fault and I have given the PSU model number.

I would of thought from me writing:
It has the flashing standby light problem. I have purchased the repair kit and replaced all components.

But it still has the issue.
That it would be obvious it HAD the problem and STILL HAS the problem.

It's ok now though, I shall go to a forum that doesn't target the newbies like this one does.

Either a defective replacement part; improper installation or you have a "unknown fault."

Vestel make tv chassis' in Turkey which are bought by many manufacturers and put in their own branded tv's. so the make and model of the tv is important as there are differences in each chassis to make it to the spec of the tv maker

Just another one of the smart arse replies that I've seen from this wise guy whilst searching for a solution to my own problem. The OP is correct in what he says - I thought forums like this are intended to inform and help people, not to be a stage for wannabe comedians/idiots

 dumpystig;....

Ye that puts ONE post here & suddenly knows it ALL !!!!

jts1957 IS one of the best techs we have here....
Which leaves you out in the cold....

From techchris , ANOTHER GOOD tech here;=>....

That makes the score 2 for ZERO !!!
I'm going to make it 3 for ZERO by agreeing with the OTHER 2....

Whilst (Englishmun giveaway !!!...& attitude problem !!!) jts does have an off the wall sense of humer , he & techchris ARE
100% CORRECT!!!!

There are NO psycics here & we are FORBIDDEN to READ minds !!!!
Your "Service Engine" light comes on in your car...
Does that mean the EXACT SAME thing for EVERY car ????
HELL NO !!!!

The OP is NOT correct when he/she/IT says;=>...

What this "GENIUS" doesn't understand is that he DIDN'T provide enough adequate information for ANY self respecting tech to give decent advice on...
Chances are that he DOESN'T have a power supply problem...
Since he changed ALL the parts (So he said) & he STILL has the SAME problem !!!
A LOT of power supplies have protect circuits built in them to prevent major damage in the event that a severe short or other circuit faults cause a higher than designed current flow that ultimately blows out the power supply..
So to shorten this up , the OP can STUFF it...

FYI:
He was NOT targeted !!!!..
He was given advice on HOW to get help here !!!!
Sorry he feels that way , but , he who wants to act like a jerk , IS a JERK !!!

Why don't you just post the make and model number of the TV rather than continuing to argue with the people who are trying to help you??????????????? You aren't going to get any help without supplying sufficient info and certainly not after p!!!!!! these same people off.
Incidentally, did you ever consider that the problem might not even be in the board that you are trying to fix but elsewhere in the TV?

Wouldnt say boredom..just here to help retards who try and fix something for themselves and have little knowledge

Oh, and I sorted my board. Now off to enjoy my weekend Cool

Well done but those grumpy bored bunch would of already known that you wouldnt have had to go out and get ripped off on Ebay with £15.00 repair kit and would of advised you of the 90p you would of had to spend on a capacitor that had gone bad, so the grumpy bored sorts are up £14.10 to enjoy their weekend much more than what you did. which to my reckoning is about 5 pints of the good stuff, whos bored and grumpy now.

Re: [chrislyons] 17pw20 flashing standby light [In reply to] Can't Post

HMMMM... seems like you people are quite adept at inventing things; where have I said anything on this forum/thread about the fault I was after rectifying, or anything I did to achieve a successful result? Or how much I spent on the repair? Reading the above ramblings by a couple of you has me somewhat bemused but very entertained - it's like we are in parallel universes. But its been fun, so at least I've gained something from you guys, for which I thank you.
Enjoy your beers my friend Wink
