1989 Curtis Mathis christmas tragedy Can't Post

i have a 52" curtis mathis. here's the story i thought i fixed the tv a few weeks ago because it came on and stayed. no trouble turning it on and off. im watchin it last night and the whole tv shuts off. no power to cut back on at all. so i disconnect power and take off the back panel. i go to wat i believe is the transformer, (Disconnecting this anode cable ("+" cable) is dangerous even when the power is turned off. Be sure to discharge following the instructions in the service manual.) well anyway i disconnected it and got the S*** shocked out of me, but when i plugged it back in and pluged the tv to the wall the tv came on and went right back out. Whats the problem?
