Hi friends, It's a Philips 27PS55 S321, and the problem is as shown in this video: https://youtu.be/BYSOnas8lKY (it doesn't do this while changing channels, only when an input is selected), it also has no sound. I found this service document http://www.umlib.com/brand/Philips/category/TV/model/27PS55S/document/830750 and have utilized the schematics starting near page 90 of the pdf. I took it apart (yes, I discharged the tube and everything), noticed a blown capacitor in the tuner schematic, replaced it (no change) fooled around with the G2 control on the flyback (as per http://www.tv-forums.com/forum/TV_Equipment_C4/TV_Repair_Forum_F3/Sony_CRT_TV_flashing_picture_P155831 ) to no avail. Recently I've noticed a resistor with scorch marks around it. It appears in the "FRAME DEFLECTION" schematic on page 91 of the pdf (part 3477, here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/MJmNGJi.png ), and it's almost directly connected to the vertical deflection coil output. So right now my problem is I don't know how to find what's causing the resistor to overheat (perhaps the IC labeled TDA8359J ?). I've also noticed that my problem doesn't seem consistent with other problems I've read about vertical deflection coil malfunctions, so what gives? The picture on this TV is waaay better than my current CRT, I would really like to make it work, I appreciate any feedback! Thanks!
