32' RCA Model #F32676SB Can't Post

RCA
Model #F32676SB
I have a 32' RCA television manufactured in 1997. Recently it began shutting itself off and then back on. Along with that it makes a strange crackling noise, not quite like static but more like a thin potato chip bag being crumbled slowly. I cleaned the dust out and looked for physical damaged to no avail. Please let me know if it is worth fixing, and if so were I might look to find the problem. Thanks.

Brian

Take the back off the set, get behind it, get someone to darken the room and look and see where the leak is, you should see a nice blue arc, or worst case flashing iside the tube. Likely causes are the supply voltage is too high due to dried out electrolytics in the supply causing high B+ so causing arcing at the spark gaps on the tube base.
