36" RCA TV Very Dark Picture all of a sudden....

It's less than a year old. It's the 36" RCA Xbox edition. Model F36650YX01.
My wife and I were watching TV, and all was fine. The phone rang so I shut the TV off. 10 minutes later, I turned it on and the picture I have is all of a sudden very dark. I cannot see the OSD menu, just a black box. Also when I turn the station, or change the volume, the menus that are normally green are black now.
What do you think the problem is? Is it a part or did it somehow get out of adjustment by itself? Is there an adjustment that can correct this?
I wanted to see if this was a simple fix before I bring it somewhere.
