40" LED TV display issue Can't Post

Hello,

I own an AOC 40" LED TV.
Model: LE40A6340/61, Power rating:100-240V ~50/60Hz 75W.

The issue is that the upper half of the display has gone dark. Its unusable. I wish to repair it myself. Please guide me.
I am embedding a photo of the screen below.

Thanks.

You need to visually examine the LEDs inside the fragile panel to see if they are truly out.
1) to see if is edge lit type or strips of LEDs;
2) to see if, if strips, are all the same and a strip that is not lighting can temporarily be exchanged with a strip that is lighting for example. Of course, that may put power supply at risk.

Start with one of these (or better) as there are many screws:

Tongue
Thanks JTS.
I can unscrew the whole unit apart and screw it back together. The product is out of warranty.
I have basic soldering skills. In fact, I have worked on PCBs as a rookie electronics enthusiast. But, manning an LED repair on my own is a different ball game here in India. Finding a reliable and affordable workshop is very difficult.
Please help, if you could.

Bear in mind that the TFT panel has to be handled / unplugged / stored CAREFULLY. You break any of the bonded tab connections or the glass itself and it's all over.
Large, flat, dust and static free work and storage areas will help. Make sure you keep everything in the correct orientation during all stages.
On many units, the back lights will operate with the TFT disconnected.

You must prove that ALL LEDs are working. A darkened area helps.
