(I put "advice" in quotes because,I,myself do not believe its truly advice.It's more like having an avenue to escape down when the problem is not solved.He can always fall back on the old...well he's not technically inclined,he does not understand,bla bla bla)

I have no horse in the tv repair race.

Like I have said in the past,I gun for this guy because I do not like his treatment of his fellow posters.I made it a point to every once in a while to come back and knock him around...only when he deserves it...not when he's being polite and nice.

You know,no one here is making any money other than the person who runs this site..and I bet he's not killing it at the bank either,he's just a simple dude trying to make a living like all of us.

The whole thing here with Ron is he comes here to feel better about himself because of his shortcomings in the field of TV repair and to argue with guy's like myself.I just keep coming back to practice my people handling skills..I stir the pot...see what comes up...and then I either respond,or lurk and read.

Ron just happens to be someone I find interesting that assumed I was someone without a brain.If he did not s**t on me a year or so ago,I would have found some other avenue to do this.

Actually,the TV forum platform atmosphere puts me in a similar situation with the type of people I do business with(TV is a good platform of many phases of Electronics applications)

I would believe your ultimate goal here is to make some contacts for the shop you are planning on opening..let me tell you,the efforts you put in here are not going to benefit you in any way in the real world..

think big..

don't be a big fish in a small pond.

This forum has a TON of information to tap from.I would assume for your purpose,getting involved is helping you sharpen your skills.

I would just assume to read the posts and research the problems without getting involved.Seeing what the outcomes were based on the interactions of the individuals.Hence,learning what to,and not to do.

The big problem is that we live in a disposable society.Almost no one fixes TVs' anymore...they just buy new ones.

I would suggest branching out into the Home theater market/home automation...

turn key theaters,target the rich areas...that was an idea I had a few years back but decided it was too much for me to learn to be profitable quickly.I also did not want to risk the Capital on a market I knew little about.

You probably tried it and you were a failure just like you were at everything else you tried in your sad life. Richpart I'm sorry I am not one of the lazy civilians that isn't afraid to expand my knowledge and take the time to fix things when the can be easily fixed by the common man. You call me cheap yet I take my set to a business and they tell me $300 just so it turns on? Let alone what another $600 so the picture comes back on? Don't think so I'll take the chance of repairing it myself, which I have, thanks to the help of not one of you. Your industry is a scam and if people weren't so lazy or busy doing other things you wouldn't make a cent. These folks you talk of are most likely clueless housewives or people with the IQ of Ron.
