5 minute warmup required for 26inch RCA CTC 130

I have a 26 inch 1986 (I believe) RCA CTC 130 console television that takes about 2-5 minutes to warmup when cold.
To get it to come on I press the power button, after several minutes the screen comes on but the signal has a lot of distortion. I turn the tv off and then back on and it is fine.
I've read post on different models with warm up problems and some have said the drive transistor or driver amp transistor could be the problem.
I have some electronic experience but not with televisions... if this is something I can do myself I would appreciate any information. If not could someone give me a ballpark figure on what a repair shop should charge. Thanks,
