Advice on a good magnifier glass

I need to buy a good magnifier glass but I am unable to decide on what I should get.
I see in you-tube Techs that manage to get super view for their postings and also sometimes super close ups.
I imagine it would be one with a stand or some king of control movement.
I will be practicing to re-install IC components and they have very small tabs for my viewpoint.
DO they run their cameras thru a magnifier glass or is the cam directly that has very close viewing?
