Apex AT2708 picture tube? Can't Post

Howdy,

Lately, our Apex AT2708's viewable screen has been getting smaller (horizontally.) I don't see a button to adjust this. Any suggestions you may offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Michael

Thanks for the reply, but I honestly don't see anything or anywhere to do this adjustment. "Service menu" isn't even mentioned in the manual. I will search the TV set itself for a trap door or some other button or screw that is not accounted for.

Can you add anything further? We know it's not an expensive TV, but it's all we have. I appreciate all your help.

Shadetree,

Thanks for the link. On our pathetic remote, in the settings, there isn't any options to adjust anything except the picture quality, cabel/antenna, etc.

I'd head to link and try that.

"Mess up the TV?" Isn't that why they made the screws fit my screwdriver Wink

Thanks again.

update!

I took the set back to where I bought it. They said they'd give ua a new set or do something with that "service menu" you mentioned earlier.

Thank you for all your help. I guess one gets what one pays for...

Ok folks, it's been about a week with the new APEX2708 and now THIS set has blown the picture tube!

Did I just get a poor line of TV's. I remember our last TV set lasted for 25 years, through 3 kids and a divorce for heaven's sake!

Who makes these APEX sets? Anyone else having difficulites like this?

Michael (watching the old 13" TV now.)

Well Shadetree, I'm BACK!
It's now April 23 and the NEW TV has gone bonkers!
Tell ya what I did: We're watching a DVD, when the show is over, I hit the kill button to the TV first. THAT'S when it happened. Set will not turn on again. I still have the straps set on my truck from the last time I took this thing back to the REX store. I really hate to show up again.

Do you or anyone else have any ideas on what I can do to repair this thing? I don't see a reset button anywhere.
I've heard of some "service mode" feature, but have gone no further with the idea.

REALLY looking for some input.

Thanks.

Absolutely it's going back. As soon as the freaking snow clears outta my driveway! Last week I was getting a tan. This week I'm catching a cold!

Thanks for the feedback during this issue.
Nice forum. Thanks.
