Backlight not coming on but working ???

Hi Guys
I have a Hisense 55A6BGTUK that isn't showing backlight. What happens is the TV just keeps flashing the red stand by light when you try to switch it on. Eventually after a few tries it does come on but there is no backlight and just a flickering shadowy image. I have dismantled the TV and tested the strips one by one with 4x9v batteries and they all light up. Replaced the main board and t-con but still no change. Don't know what else to do now unfortunately there is only the screen left to replace. Any help would be much appreciated.
