CRT Vestel 11AK37-11 trouble shooting Can't Post

Hello,

I am trying to trouble shoot a CRT TV with a Vestel 11AK37-11. It started when Q801 shored in the smps, I managed to get the TV working again by replacing Q801 and the IC800 controller, and also the Q601 HOT. Everything worked OK for a couple of weeks and then static on the screen started randomly. Eventually it go to the point where the TV would jump into standby, finally blowing the Q601 HOT.

I have replaced the Q601 HOT again, the TV works powers up OK, but the static seems to be happening again, and jumps into standby. If I leave it running it will probably blow the HOT again.

I have check all the diodes and resistors and all looks OK. I don't have any specialised equipment other than a dmm.

I have followed all the items on this previous post

Any ideas what would be causing the static?

Cheers

Well, I removed the HOT Q601 from the board (which seems to be OK), and powered up. The B+ was 151.75v and reasonably stable. I could hear the static clicks, but the B+ voltage did not fluctuate. Alas, it jumped into stand by.

Am I right to assume the problem is in the power supply? as without Q601 there is still the static clicks. Possibly the capacitors around Q801/IC800 which may have been damaged when initially shorted. The clicks have progressively got worse, as the capacitor starts failing? (bad ESR as none are shorted) The resistors measure OK.

Cheers
