Connecting Sony To Cable Problems Can't Post

I am trying to connect my Sony KV-27XBR45 to cable (Time Warner). If I direct connect, I get a grainy picture, sound and a subset of channels available. If I connect from the output of the cable box, I do not get video unless I use the S-Video cable from the cable box to the TV(No Sound). Any ideas?

Does a VCR playing a movie show OK pix & snd when input through TV RF antenna connector on channel 3 (or Ch 4)? When hooked to Time Warner box should work same way, otherwise BAD box. Box should also have separate audio outputs that you should run to same input as S-Video.

TV picture and sound work fine with VCR. I don't know if this helps, but I have a 1990 Mitsubishi that works fine hooked to Ant B direct connect (from wall (no cable box).

Still stumped.

Call Time Warner and see if one of their geniuses can diagnose your problem!
