Dark picture LG LED tv

Hello! I’ve been trying to figure out my LG LED tv problem.
The picture is dark, (not so dark that you have to use a flashlight, though)and adjusting the brightness has no effect at all. It is a 2015 LG LF6300-UA. It is a uniform, even dark across the whole screen, so I thought it was the power supply board. I bought one off EBay, seller claimed it came from a new tv with a broken screen, when I put it in I got the same dark picture. Occasionally it would brighten up for a second (not normal bright but brighter) just like a flicker..what should I check next? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
