Fault with my Sony KDL-26S2010 LCD TV Can't Post

Hi there,
I bought a Sony KDL-262010 LCD Tv off a auction site with a fault, but I just can't seem to find out anything on the net about the problem it has.
The problem is, when I turn on the tv it takes about 30 seconds to come on, but when it does, the back light, lights up for about 1 second & then i can hear two clicks on the psu & the tv shuts down again & does the same thing again & again.
If this helps anyone out there, the green light on the tv itself stays on green when the tv is on & while it goes through trying to turn on & switching itself off again.
I did un plug the inverter board, but it still does the same thing.
The only thing I can think it could be is the psu, but I don't really no much about switch mode power supplys, but a few friends at work did say that the output stage on the psu may be overloading & that the psu keeps powering down to protect itself.
So if anyone out there knows about switch mode power supplys, then please leave a reply?

Regards Tom.

Hi thanks for letting me know.
I know a little about lcds, as all lcd displays are, little LEDs so I still can't see how LEDs are going to be faulty.
There must be something wrong on one of the pcb's which connects straight to the lcd screen?
Can you help me with that?
Regards Tom.
